clear line of sight

a few months after we cleared and composted this patch our firend goldernrod made a glorious return and reclaimed a place in the sun. a few branches were trimmed for lighting and tree health while below the old canes of rose of sharon were whipped back asunder to a pile. we cleared space for the native violets and nettles and goldenrod. added a few new friends like solomons seal and golden seal since this our native shade zone. however we have notice that goldenrod is a sign of reforresting and when conditioins are appropriate will nudge out others for first row, second and third too. all are getting along together quite nicely either witch way it goes. the nettles though, seem to be plotting domination of the corner as time passes.
